Scholarship Information
10 students will be awarded $2000 each for the September 2026 to June 2027 academic year.
Scholarship Eligibility
To qualify for the Cho Foundation scholarship, an applicant must be:

A student of Korean heritage studying in the United States regardless of citizenship status (Korean- American with US citizenship, Korean with US permanent residency or Korean National).

A student residing in the NY, NJ and CT (tri-state)

A high school senior or undergraduate student enrolled full time in a college or university during the scholarship application year.
Application Requirements
In an effort to be eco-friendly (save trees, save postage), we are requesting the following items to be submitted via email as PDF attachments:

Completed application form (available at thechofoundationinc.org).

College acceptance letter or proof of current enrollment.

Copy of parent’s/guardian’s and applicant (if applicable) Federal 2025 Tax Return (include all pages). State tax return not required.

Current official school transcript. (Must be emailed separately by the school)

One letter of recommendation. (Must be emailed separately by recommender)

An essay on the following topic:
In recent year, immigrant communities have come under increased scrutiny nationwide.
Explore how this has or has not impacted you as a Korean American in your community.
Application Instructions

The application deadline is firm. All documents must be submitted by the deadline. No exceptions will be made.

The applicant’s full name and date of birth must appear on all submitted documents.

All documents must be submitted via email in PDF format only.
***Incomplete application packages will not be considered.

Important Dates

Scholarship Award Announcement: July 10, 2026 Recipients will be notified by email and announced on the website.

Scholarship Award Ceremony: July 31, 2026 (tentative date) Recipients (or a representative) must attend the ceremony to receive the scholarship
